I’m a writer, blogger, Mum, daughter, wife, sister, singer and marketer. I tidy my house from one of the week to the next and it still looks messy. Somedays I choose to write over cleaning my house. I don’t know which is more satisfactory.
I started a blog because I thought it would be a fun thing to do. I’d just returned from a blogging conference, where I’d been sent as part of a work trip. I thought, I could do this, and so I did.
It took me some time to get into the swing of things. That was back in 2013 and really it took until early 2015, following the birth of my first daughter, before I started posting regularly and taking the blog seriously.
Since then, blogging has become a passion more than a hobby. I used to post religiously, turning out piece after piece, across everything that interested me. Now, I blog less, but usually at least once a month.
I have considered shutting up shop manys a time over the past few years as I concentrated on new projects, but it’s hard to turn my back on something I’ve found so rewarding, so giving, so good for the soul.
In 2017 I achieved my life goal of publishing my first novel. December Girl was my first step on a towering publishing ladder. Professionally, it is now what I concentrate on most and probably, what I get most satisfaction from.
My second book The Nanny at No.43 will be published by Poolbeg Press in Summer 2019 and I’m very excited to be putting some new work out on the bookshelves.

Hi Nicola, i just found you through Louise Jensen. I love your tone, I can hear what must be a lovely Irish accent coming through your writing. Well done for your book deal. Will certainly look out for it. All the best! Juliet, Glaswegian blogger, now living in France
Lovely to virtually meet you Juliet – thank you for your lovely comments 🙂 I will take a read of your blog also 🙂
You are welcome, you deserve them. Thanks for replying. Oh, my blog is a big mishmash of stuff but I think I have become addicted to it.
Enjoy the end of your evening and have a happy Sunday too.
